Sell my house fast – these are words you’ve probably uttered to your real estate agent one too many times. (The other one being – get me the best offers.) Well, you’re paying them good money for it so you have the right to demand. But some agents really go the extra mile to be able to deliver results. Don’t you think they deserve a closing gift? Not that most home sellers and buyers are not willing to give a token of appreciation, but they are probably too busy moving to even think about giving or what to give to their agents. If you were to give a closing gift to your super-performing real estate agent though, what would you give? Here are some gift ideas.
1. Referrals
Real estate agents who are able to stay in business for years are largely able to do so because of referrals from satisfied clients. Nothing beats a satisfied client’s recommendation to a friend or family, as people usually listen to those who they trust. So if you’ve found a gem of an agent, the best closing gift you can give him is more clients. It doesn’t even cost you a single cent.
2. Gift certificates
When you don’t know a person well enough, it can be hard to choose a gift to buy. You’re afraid he might not like it; you’re afraid he might be allergic to it, or that it’s offensive to him. Good thing there are gift cards available at supermarkets, department stores, music stores, bookstores, gas stations and restaurants. That way you can be sure that what they buy is what they really want.
3. Flowers
It’s hard to go wrong with flowers, especially if your real estate agent is a woman. They love it when a bouquet of red roses suddenly arrives at their office or home. And most flower shops deliver, so it’s less of a hassle for you.
4. Custom engraved gifts
What about a mug or a candle set that has your message of appreciation on it, or a pen that has the realtor’s name on it? Give him a customized gift that he can use everyday so he’ll never forget you.
5. Collectibles
Find out what your real estate agent collects or what his hobbies and interests are. For example, he may be into artworks. So ask him discreetly who his favorite artist is and buy a painting, or if that’s too expensive, maybe some miniature crystal figurines. Whatever works.
6. Gourmet gift baskets
Who wouldn’t like a basket full of goodies? You’ve got chocolates, nuts, cheese, cookies, fruit, baked goods, fruits, etc. Real estate agents are very busy so they wouldn’t mind extra food in the pantry.
7. Digital picture frames
Before the mass production of digital cameras, we used to be able to take only a maximum of 36 shots for a roll of film. Now, with digital cameras and memory cards, we never can seem to take enough photos. Rather than just store them on the computer, a digital picture frame would not only store them, but display them as well on a slide show.
